How Do Students Prepare?
There are two ways to prepare:
- Use this tutorial to practice writing complete sentences, as well as process sample audio messages. Give responses to your English teacher to review and edit. Conference with your English teacher to discuss areas of strength and need. Complete grammar practice based on specific skill deficits.
- Log on to the program through the internet site at www.KeyTrain.com. Students must correctly answer each of the problems in a tutorial lesson before they can go to the next section. They must complete all topics in a lesson before they can complete the post-test for the lesson. Once a student completes the KeyTrain lessons, he/she must print the appropriate certifications and provide them to the WorkKeys testing coordinator.
The WorkKeys testing coordinator will verify the completion and set up the individual testing.
Any student who is working toward a standard diploma during the current academic year, and who has failed the Virginia English 11 Writing SOL test at least once, is eligible to use WorkKeys as an alternative to fulfill that graduation requirement.
